About Dr. Kushnerik

Vadim Kushnerik, MD, is an internationally recognized pain management specialist practicing at Wall Street Pain Relief. With offices in Midtown East and Financial District New York City, Dr. Kushnerik specializes in treating a diverse variety of pain with minimally invasive procedures and other techniques that help patients avoid the complications of surgery. He earns the trust of patients of all ages by forming lasting relationships with them and personalizing their treatment plans according to their unique needs and preferences.

Dr. Kushnerik began his extensive background in medicine while attending medical school at Stony Brook School of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York. After graduating with his medical degree with distinction in research in 1996, he continued training with an internship in internal medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center through Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Queens, New York. Following his internship, he received specialized training in anesthesiology with a residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital through Columbia Medical School in New York City. In 2001, he completed an interventional pain management fellowship at Columbia Medical School and through Cornell Medical School.

Since completing his formal training, Dr. Kushnerik hasn’t stopped pursuing new information to bring to his patients. Throughout his education and beyond, he has published much of his own research about cardiothoracic surgery, regional anesthesia, pain management, and neuroimmunology.

At his two current offices, Dr. Kushnerik often treats patients for pain related to arthritis, herniated discs, fibromyalgia, muscle injuries, and tendinitis. When physical therapy exercises and mild medications don’t help a patient, he performs minimally invasive procedures like radiofrequency therapy, trigger point injections, epidural injections, and regenerative treatments like platelet-rich plasma injections.

When he isn’t at either office administering effective treatments for pain, stiffness, or numbness, Dr. Kushnerik teaches as a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College in Manhattan, New York City. He has earned numerous awards for his excellence in care, including “America’s Top Anesthesiologists” and an honorary police surgeon degree for his work during the aftermath of 9/11.
